Hello! I'm Melanie. I'm 30 years old, and have been living in Jindabyne for the past 3 years. I work for one of the ski resorts here in KNP. I send my winters here sking and snowboarding, and in summer I like to go on hikes in the National Park, or do a quick trip to the coast for a weekend (2 hours drive from Jindabyne). I love to travel and have spent a lot of time overseas, but am currently looking forward to seeing more of Australia.

The House

Cosy 3 bedroom apartment in central Jindabyne. Large kitchen, and open living space with comfortable couches. New deck which is perfect for a morning cuppa!

Main bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite bathroom. Second bedroom has a queen bed. Third bedroom has two sets of bunk beds and can comfortably sleep 5 people. Laundry room with ski racks and a boot dryer. Two undercover car spots directly infront of the apartment.

Walking distance (10-15 minutes) to shops, restaurants, cafes and Lake Jindabyne, or a quick 4 minute drive. Easy 20-40 minutes driving to the National Park for skiing/boarding, hiking and biking. You will need a National Parks pass on your car (you can pay at the booth on your way in). Unfortunately, no car swaps.

The things I love about living here

  • Right on the doorstep of Kosciuszko National Park!
  • We love the beautiful crisp mountain air!
  • Hike to the top of Mount Kosciuszko in just one day.
  • Jindabyne is a very outdoorsy/adventurous community. There are plenty of local walks and bike trails right by town. Many other trails are just a short drive away to the National Park.
  • Plenty of opportunties to spot wildlife: kangaroos, wombats, echidnas, fox, deer, rosellas, kookaburras etc.
  • Beautiful lake, just a couple of minutes from the apartment.
  • Pretty frisbee golf course right by the lake.
  • Popular spot for fishing.
  • Plenty of retail shops in town for hiring kayaks, mountain bikes, e-bikes, skis, snowboards etc.
  • Live music at the local pubs most weekends.
  • Local cinema.
  • Local Escape Room.
  • Thredbo Leisure Centre.

The Location

Jindabyne is located in the NSW Snowy Mountains, just outside of Kosciuszko National Park. The town is close to Thredbo, Perisher and Charlotte Pass Snow Resorts. In the winter, you can ski/snowboard/toboggan at the resorts. In the summer, there is plenty of hiking, biking, fishing in and around the National Park.
