Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Peachland, Okanagan Lake, BC
We are an almost retired Canadian couple in our 60's. My husband was a lawyer / law professor and I was a teacher. We have successfully completed many swaps on the Home Exchange platform but are new to this one. Our daughter is currently a doctor at Sydney Children's Hospital. She is doing a Paediatric residency. We would like to stay in Sydney in our winter (December, January, or February) so we can visit with her. We have a house in Hawaii and a house in Canada that we could swap. We are looking at non reciprocal exchanges.

Catbird House is a newly built waterfront home on Okanagan lake. Down our private trail is a rustic lakeside cabin with secluded beach, BBQ and hot outdoor shower. Swim, paddle, fish for trout, or simply sit back and watch the abundant wildlife including many species of birds as well as marmots, ground squirrels, beavers and deer. In the evenings, listen for owls and coyotes while watching the shooting stars in the spectacularly clear night sky.
The main house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms as well as a pool (unheated during summer months) and a hot tub.
The large deck below the pool overlooks the lake and has an open air outdoor BBQ station and a 10 seat dining table.
The 5 minute walk down to the lakeshore ends at our 2 storey cabin with its deck and dining table hanging over the beach. On the main floor of the cabin there is a sofa bed, a fridge, a sink, and small appliances including a microwave, toaster and kettle. Upstairs there are 2 single beds and an ensuite 'Cinderella' (incinerating) toilet.
Outside there is a propane bbq on one side of the cabin and an elegant outdoor shower with a few stairs to the beach on the other side. There is also a firepit (propane).
We have 2 stand up paddle boards, 1 extra large (6 man) paddle board and a kayak for guests' personal use and enjoyment.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire property.
The Okanagan is an all seasons destination, There is so much to do here for all ages and fitness levels:
- watersports, fishing, bird watching, hiking, road and mountain biking, strolling, shopping, wine tours, fruit picking as well as skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and toboganning.
Major downhill ski resorts of Silver Star, Apex and Big White, are located between 45 mins - 1.5 hrs from my home while cross country and skate skiing, telemarking, snowshoeing, and tobogganing are within a 15 - 20 minute drive.
