Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Merivale, Christchurch, Canterbury
We are a couple in our early 50s. I am Irish & he is Kiwi! For obvious reasons I spend most of my annual leave & most of my money going back to Ireland and this time we have decided it is time for something different. We have been to Tasmania before and fell in love. We are heading there again early Feb for 3 weeks and plan to campervan for at least some of the trip. It would be great to have a base incase it gets too hard!

120 year old North facing villa. Located on a quiet road with lovely neighbours. We spend most of the summer outside on the deck which includes a hammock & BBQ (coal & gas).

Christchurch is the gateway to the south island. From the tram, to our Arts Centre & Botanic Gardens, you can spend many a summers afternoon enjoying the sights and local eateries. Punting down the river Avon - another must! The WAIPARA wine region is a 45 minute drive and not to be missed. Kids will enjoy the zoo Orana Park or a visit to Willowbank to see a real life Kiwi! Also a coffee while the kids play at the all-ages, all-abilities Margaret Mahy playground. If you are interested in whale watching, helicopter rides over glaciers, wine tours or if you are an adrenalin junkie, the south island has it all.
Methven & Hanmer Springs both offer excellent hot pools. A couple of days away there can just be the ticket, or if you prefer to stay put, 15 mins drive away is He Puna Taimoana, where the sunrise / sunset can be enjoyed in pure luxury.
