Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Newtown, Geelong, VIC
Hi! We’re a well-travelled couple, with 4 adult kids who come and go as their happy, independent lives develop. Doug is retired although golfs a lot and is a skilled handyman who keeps himself very busy with all manner of projects. I’m a lawyer and still working busily. We like keeping fit, going to theatre, going to the beach and spending time with friends.

We’re proud owners of a beautifully located, multi-story home on the banks of the Barwon River in Newtown, a central and very popular suburb of Geelong. Our home is positioned on a pretty steep hill. It’s designed to take in lots of natural light and gorgeous views. We have 4 bedrooms and a studio which can serve as a bedroom too. The house has lots of stairs and distinct living zones. We have a fantastic front balcony from which to take in the lovely view over the River valley and golf course. We face the west so sunsets can be spectacular, especially over the summer months. We live in a quiet court with lovely neighbours. There’s basically no traffic so access in and out of the property is easy.

There really is heaps to do in our area. Central Geelong has plenty to see: galleries, cafes, a beautiful waterfront, great shopping, beautiful parks. We love the River tracks near our house for lovely walks and bike rides. We head to the beach often: either down to the bay or down to the surf beaches and Great Ocean Road. Melbourne is super easy to get to (I commute easily to work, usually by train.) We go to the theatre, movies, restaurants, wineries, all of which are close by. Our place is close to so much but is itself really peaceful and quiet.
