We are a family of 5, and 1 very cute and well-behaving dog (a maltese poodle - non shedding). The kids are 12, 14 and 16. We love travel and sports: cycling, hiking, trailing running & swimming. We understand your house is precious and always respect others' property and belongings. We love to bring our dog along, but if that's not possible we have options to leave him with friends or family.

Enjoy mountain views from our spacious home on a 2 acre block.
Our home offers all the modern comforts with lots of natural light in beautiful surroundings.
It is situated in a new estate just outside of Bright (about 1.5km).
Even though it is within walking distance of the town centre, the cul de sac street is very quiet.
It backs onto a fire road, and offers great views of Mystic mountain where you can watch the paragliders take off.
If you roll down the road for a few 100 metres you are straight onto the mountain & walking bike trails.
The house is highly insulated, has underfloor heating so every single room is warm and comfortable in winter. The double-sided fire place offers extra cosiness on cold winter nights after a day at the snow.
In summer you'll be able to take advantage of fresh fruit and veggies from the backyard.
There is an outdoor BBQ, but also an outdoor fire pit to gather around while enjoying the view of the surrounding hills.
There are 4 bedrooms with queen size beds, and 1 bedroom with a bunk bed plus trundle.
The house also features a double garage, rumpus room with lots of board games. Of course there is also high-speed wifi.
For outdoors we have a ping pong table, badminton and a spring-free trampoline, or why not try a game of bocce ball.

Bright is surrounded by mountains, and has 2 rivers flowing through it so it's simply beautiful. This also makes it the perfect destination for those who love the outdoors as the options for activities are vast: running, cycling, hike the mountains, ski them in winter, float down the river in sumer or kayak the rapids. Abseil from Mt. Buffalo, go paragliding, rent ebikes and ride the many rail trails. Like fishing, you can do that too. (and much more)
End the day at any of the many restaurants to enjoy some local produce, or visit the many wineries the area has to offer. The town also boats many lovely boutiques for those loving some retail therapy.

We had the best time exchanging with Maaike and her family and staying in her beautiful home in Bright. The location is so peaceful and just a short ride into the centre of Bright. We explored the rail trails, the mountain bike parks and the nature walks in the area. It was very easy communicating with Maaike and they looked after our home like it was theirs. I’d be very happy to exchange again :-)

In awe every time we begin a swap. So humbled that this beautiful family trusted us with their home in Bright. Such a stunning location and property. The view simply took our breath away and each morning awaking to the sound of nature and kookaburras laughing. There were kangaroos on the property at night . Maaike was a dream to communicate with and took the time to have a few chats over the phone to ensure everything was considered and all little details were taken care of at both ends. . The house provided the most beautiful outdoor area and positioned in a stunning but quiet part of Bright. We even discovered a few walks (even spotted a platypus) straight across the road from their street. . We took our bikes and enjoyed this beautiful part of the world. Floating down the river on our inflatables ended up being a highlight of our stay as was the walks up Mt Buffalo . Both their home and ours very left perfectly on arrival and departure which made for a very enjoyable and easy stay . Maaike and family were kind enough to look after our beautiful gentle giant (groodle) Murphy which they spoiled with many cuddles and beach walks. . Forever grateful for the experience of swapping with this lovely family
