Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Levin, Horowhenua, Manawatu/Wanganui
We are a retired couple who enjoy the concept of house swapping because you get to see the real country rather than just the tourist areas. We love nature and love to get out and explore on foot. We originally hail from Auckland but are now converts to the quiet life in small town New Zealand. We currently spend a lot of time in voluntary work when we aren't out exploring New Zealand and Australia.

We have a new passive solar home built for our retirement. There are 2 bedrooms with queen beds, 1 bathroom and 2 toilets. There is a generous open plan living area with a large surrounding deck from where you look out to the Tararua Ranges - a beautiful sight when they are covered in snow in the winter. We have a hot tub on the deck which we love to soak in at night and enjoy the night sky. We have created an elevated retreat on the fringe of the CBD.

The centre of Levin is bustling with activity with cafes, shops, a cool little cinema and more! However, we fully recommend exploring a bit further with some delightful lakeside parks and gardens within the town, as well as some real outdoors adventures surrounding the town in the Tararua Ranges!
There are many experiences to be had in this town built around an agricultural community. Visit the Celtic and Ohau Wineries, walk to Lake Papaitonga and up to the trig for a wonderful view, spend some quiet time at Thompson House and gardens, watch a movie at our boutique cinema, drive out to Waitarere Beach.
However, if you want to explore further afield, why not check out the nearby towns of Foxton and Otaki? The popular Off The Loop Cable Wakeboard Park is located at Foxton, also a unique estuary which plays host to many seabirds including godwits and a genuine working Dutch windmill.
Our location is also very central to exploring further afield to Wellington, Hawkes Bay, Tongariro National Park, Wanganui, Wairarapa and Taranaki.

Leonie and Tony were wonderful house guests. They took good care of our home and we thoroughly enjoyed staying at theirs. Their house has delightful views over the ranges. Most things were in easy walking distance in the town. We really enjoyed walking through the forest tracks and along the wild and beautiful beaches.

Leonie and Tony have a lovely, comfortable home with beautiful views of the Tarurua mountains. A quick drive to several beaches and walks and great shopping in Levin.

Thank you so very much for swapping your lovely home with us. Your home is indeed, lovely, and you also gave us lots of information to make sure we found all the best things to do and places to visit which we made the most of. We really enjoyed your place so much.
