Hello there, we are Susie and Peter and we were lucky enough to come to live in a gorgeous part of Tasmania in 2017. Although we miss being close in distance to our family and friends, we are just loving life here but thank goodness for phones, facetime,skype emails etc. As we are from just outside the Greater Brisbane area, one of the reasons of joining House Swap is that we are wanting to be "home" for Christmas with our kids and grandkids. So we would love to swap especially at this time.. we would love a home that we could have our family Christmas dinner all together. In having said that at other times of the year we would love to see what ever else there is on offer. Even other parts of Tassie .We love to travel and the idea of going somewhere in the world we havn't been before excites us. We love living in our natural surroundings and sometimes just pop up to Cradle Mountain for a little walk through the ancienct forests and have afternoon tea with the wombats! How can you not smile when you see these fabulous creatures. This is what makes us extremely happy. We love to travel,wether it be home or overseas, and hope we can do so even more with Aussie House Swap. Peter has a passion for old classic cars and has a shed full and is hoping that he could do tours in the future. Even though his shed is full he is always still looking for that extra special one to add to the stable!! We are humble servants to our 2 beautiful indoor cats , who love nothing better than parking themselves on a lap, sit in the sun or infront of the fire on a cold day. They are treasured members of the family . We might have to ask for you to take care of them for us.

Our home is double storey chalet style. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs both with queen sized beds, electric blankets for chilly nights, and both have their own ensuites, fridge and tea and coffee set up.. these rooms open out to the undercover verandah.
Also downstairs in the main part of the house is a living area with fireplace and casual dining area. There is also a large formal dining area for special meals or larger group .
The very large chefs kitchen is our special place where you can cook up a storm. The new kitchen features all granite bench tops, a 90 cms gas oven and cooktop and large pantry. Loads of bench space. A dishwasher and the must have coffee machine.
There is also a nook with table and chairs for breakfast with views to nearby Mt Roland . A laundry and powder room completes downstairs.
Upstairs are 3 more bedrooms .
Main bedroom with king size bed and has an ensuite. Another bedroom has a queen sized bed and this room shares the main bathroom with another very large bedroom that has a king bed or can be converted to 2 king single beds for the kids.
A spacious living area with 55 inch TV and comfy lounges and full bookshelves a plenty if you just want to sit and read or just chill out.
The house is also residence of Frankie, a Himalayan kitty and Horace who we would love for our house swappers to kindly tend them. Feed and of course kitty litter duties. They are inside kitties only however we have a fully enclosed vegie garden where they can go for a couple of hours a day.
Winter can be chilly , and most beautiful, sometimes even snowing outside , but the fireplace will warm you up..especially with a glass of wine or hot chocolate. Also upstairs is reverse cycle air con as well.
We have some toboggans if the kids, or big kids, want to slide down the snowy grassy little hills in the yard
We have 20 acres of land to roam around on, complete with fern tree lined waterways and an orchard that usually just feeds the possums as they usually get in first!!
Summer is a beautiful time too with fantastic long days, twilight and incredible sunsets. The verandahs are the perfect spot to watch the sun go down and watch the wildlife come out to play. We are never short of pademelons with about 10 resident ones plus their friends. Great to go out with the torch for spotting other little critters too.
We would also be very happy to car swap. We have a Pajero for your use to get around.

We are located in the village of Wilmot. Centrally located to discover Tasmania's North West and take a walk on the wild side. Just 40 minutes drive and you can be walking amongst the wombats of most iconic area, Cradle Mountain with it's ancienct forests , waterfalls and walking tracks.Or 30 minutes drive takes you to the spectacular North west coastline. Beautiful headlands and beaches. There are also Little Penguin rookeries that come alive at dusk each evening, especially in Summer. There is so much to see and do all within a very short distance.
Our property is over 20 acres and sits on a hill overlooking a valley below and out to the west where you will see some incredible sunsets .Nightly wildlife include wallabies, pademelons, potaroos, possums, occasonal Spotted Quolls and Tasmanian devils. Daytime there are the black cocatoos, parrots and our gardens are home to red breasted Robins and the little Blue Wrens
Wilmot is only 40 minutes drive to Devonport where the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry docks in. Ulverstone is about 30 minute scenic drive away and also has supermarkets, cafes and shops.
Living in a rural area ,and so local produce fresh from the farm gate is always on offer. Apples and potatoes feature as expected and in summer brings out all the beautiful fruits and berries such as raspberries, cherries and heaps of stone fruit.
