Lyn (Japanese teacher) and Andrew (I.T.) are in their mid 50s. Lyn enjoys cooking, reading, swimming, and photography. Andrew enjoys classic cars and gardening. Both like hiking and camping. Sasha is 15 and likes reptiles, art, reading, soccer, and the visual and performing arts. She plays guitar, keyboard, and trombone. Riaow Riaow is a 14 year old desexed, microchipped female tabby housecat who requires food, water and litter changes; as well as medication twice daily (syringed over her wet food.) She likes chasing house geckos and sleeping on couches. Bernie is an 8 year old blue tongue skink who enjoys sunbathing and strawberries. Phil is a Fraser Island banded snail. He and his surprise offspring, mini Phil, are very low maintenance.

Our house is a 12 year old modern Queenslander on stilts, with steps to access both front and back doors. There is a large front deck with outdoor seating, BBQ and dining area; and an 8x4m salt water swimming pool with deck in the backyard. The kitchen has a gas stovetop with electric oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is a clay wood-fired oven in the backyard. The main bedroom has an en suite and queen size bed. The second bedroom has a European double loft bed, accessible by either stairs or ladder. The third bedroom has a double sofa bed. There are ceiling fans in all living areas including bedrooms, a wood-fired heater in the lounge; and a reverse-cycle air-conditioner in the main living area.

Lyn and her family took great care of our dog and our house. The swap was easy to organise, with easy and good communication. We enjoyed staying in Yandina, the house was comfortable. The ginger factory in Yandina is a great place to visit, and there are plenty of beaches within easy reach.
