My name is Brendan and I am a single dad and an exercise scientist. I have a daughter and son who are both in primary school. We love living in a beautiful part of the Gold Coast. We enjoy an active lifestyle and our location is perfect for walks along the picturesque Broadwater. We are looking for places within 12-15 hours' drive but are also keen to check out the far-reaches of Australia and are not adverse to jumping on a plane.

Want a fun Gold Coast holiday without the city stress? Our 1970s brick home is just a quick walk to the restaurant/cafe hub of Chirn Park. It has 3 bedrooms (one king bed, one sofa bed and a bunk bed) and an open living area. If you have a baby or toddler, there's no need to bring toys etc, we have toys for toddlers-primary schoolers. Our home is perfect for summer barbeques with a deck overlooking the large, fenced backyard which includes a little putting green. Plus, there is a covered entertaining area out the front which houses a large in-ground fenced swimming pool.

Queensland's premier tourist destination! We are just 7 minutes drive from SeaWorld and 10 minutes from Wet'n'Wild and Movie World and it's just a bit further to Dreamworld. Our house is 600m from the gorgeous Broadwater - with access to boat ramps, fishing and watersports activities and a bike path. Just a short walk to Chirn Park shops which boast a selection of all-day dining restaurants as well as boutique shops, convenience store, hairdresser, post office, newsagency and tapas bar. It's also a short drive into Surfers Paradise or you can forget the traffic and park the car to catch the tram to Broadbeach and Pacific Fair shopping centre. Don't forget, the idyllic Hinterland is only a 30 minute drive - where you'll find walking/hiking tracks and stunning waterfalls. Everything is on your doorstep!

Rachel welcomed us into her home which had a great deal of room inside and plenty of play area outside, including a swimming pool and was clean and tidy. Rachel's home is in close proximity to beautiful beaches and some of the major Gold Coast tourist attractions. On our return, our home was clean and tidy, and Rachel went above and beyond to make sure our was left exactly how we left it. Essentially, our whole family had a great visit, and are hopeful to do another house swap with each other in the future. Thank you for the the Gold Coast family memories!

We had a wonderful time doing our first swap with Rachel and family. Their house felt like home and Percy the dog was a delight to care for. Between the pool and trampoline, the kids didn't want to go out! Chirn Park proved to be an excellent location, close to the Broadwater for walks, the park and New Years Eve celebrations. Busses were easy to navigate to get into the city and we were close to many beautiful swimming spots. Rachel spoke with us on the phone a few times before the swap and provided lots of information. Regrettably, smoke from the bushfires cut their stay at our house short, but Rachel and family left the house in perfect condition. I hi highly recommend swaps with their family.

We enjoyed exploring this part of the Gold Coast and were comfortably accommodated in the home of this lovely family. A generously sized pool was at entry level....convenient for us, as we used it daily for exercise. Front and back patios gave choice for a morning and afternoon read in the cool. There was a choice of videos for the rainy day. For ease of parking we chose to shop at the local Aldi + fresh seafood from Charis on the Broadwater. Outside Charis is a park with a view of the swimable Ian Dipple lagoon. It was good to hear again the distinctive bird calls from this part of the coast. We returned to find our place as we left it. This break gave us what we were looking for and we thank B & R for their swap.
