The House

We have just moved into our new home in April of 2021. We are on nearly 3 acres so it is very private. We at the end of a 400 metre private driveway surrounded by trees, so it feels like we are not in suburbia which is exactly how we wanted it.

Our house is a two story mud brick beauty. It is full of natural timber, recycled power poles and with two open fire places is like a big ski chalet. The timber lined cathedral ceilings are gorgeous. Our house has four bedrooms and a study. Bedroom 1 - King with an ensuite and a fully functioning spa bath. Bedroom 2 and 3 are both upstairs and have Queen size beds and are Cetus spacious. One overlooks the pool and the other gets a beautiful view of the sunrise. Bedroom 4 is also upstairs and has a single that can convert into a queen. There are numerous living areas. One is upstairs, so if the kids want a separate area to the adults they can enjoy this. The kitchen and dining room is huge Abe this leads out onto a large deck area that overlooks the pool area. We have central heating and two fireplaces to keep cosy in winter and apparently the mudbrick keeps the place cool in summer, but we have not had a summer here yet!

There is also a two bedroom cottage on the grounds. This is about 50 metres away from the main house and my Mum is currently renovating this with a view to moving in.

Outside there is a beautiful pool, high-bounce trampoline and space to run around. We have not completed the fencing yet, but as soon as we do, we will getting alpacas. The back decking comes off the kitchen and laundry and overlooks the pool. There is also a downstairs toilet off the laundry for easy access from the pool. There is also a very handy beer fridge in the laundry with easy access from the deck.

At the time of writing this, we have a gorgeous 10 year old Groodle called Poppy and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our new Golden Retriever puppy in a couple of weeks. We also have a demanding cat who does whatever he likes. We can arrange for the cat and dogs to be looked after if needed. I will continue to add more photos as we are renovating each week.

The Location

We live in a the family friendly suburb of Langwarrin. About an hour's drive from the airport straight along the freeway. At our doorstep we have a 500 acres of beautiful Flora and Fauna park which has gorgeous walking trails. We are 10 minutes drive to the beach, close to Moonlit Sanctuary, and only a 5 minute drive to Peninsula Link which takes you straight into the heart of the stunning Mornington Peninsula. Shopping Centres are close by and the award winning Langwarrin Pub is a 3 minute drive away which has $5 meals for kids on a Monday. They also have a courtesy bus! We are close enough to the city to spend the day but far enough away that we still have a family feel and space. Our house is surrounded by trees and and houses on acreage.
