Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Adelaide City , SA
We are a retired couple who regularly visit our grandsons and daughter in the inner west of Sydney (Leichhardt). We also enjoy exploring Australia and overseas. Peter was an academic and now is busy running an airbnb (an eco home behind our house), along with being involved in local politics and cycling advocacy. Fiona was a writer/editor and now enjoys retirement and volunteering. We love walking, cycling, travel, cooking, reading, movies and being with friends and family. We have enjoyed house swapping in Sydney, Melbourne, country Victoria and Dunedin, New Zealand. We are particularly interested to hear of possible swaps in inner west Sydney at any time. We have had 11 successful swaps and are looking forward to many more.

Our home is an airy, two storey, secure and all electric (convection stove) town house with street access and a small private courtyard at the back. It has 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double) and a study with a single sofa bed. There are two and a half bathrooms. We have recently built a separate small eco home behind the back courtyard which is currently available through airbnb. We don't have off-street parking and we walk, cycle and use public transport. (We have 3 bicycles for your use.)

We live in the city of Adelaide only 7 minutes walk from the wonderful Central Market and 2 minutes from the tram (free in the city) which also takes you to the beach at Glenelg.
It's about a 20 minute walk to North Terrace where shops, the SA Art Gallery and SA Museum are located.
The city is surrounded by extensive parklands where we love to walk and ride our bikes (you are welcome to use them).
Adelaide is a good base for visiting Kangaroo Island, the Flinders Ranges, Hahndorf and the wine regions of the Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek.

We loved staying in Fiona and Peter's house in central Adelaide. Such a great location with the free city tram and bus available right outside, and all parts of the city within walking distance. Great communication from Fiona throughout meant we had lots of great recommendations for cafes and things to do. All the surrounding wineries are easily accessible by car or by taking a tour bus from the city. Thank you Fiona and Peter for a fabulous swap.

I loved staying at Peter and Fiona's townhouse. So close to the North Terrace Cultural Precinct, everything so close, local pub, really good cheap cafes, China Town; bus and tram just around the corner. Great to be able to use Fiona's excellent bike to pop round to the markets and fill up with lovely fresh food. Really comfortable large townhouse, so very quiet. Very effective air conditioning came in handy on a couple of exceptionally hot days. Have to say also that Peter and Fiona left my house extra sparkling clean.

This was a lovely place to stay and we were made to feel most welcome, even though they didn't need to make use of our home. A great city for cycling, easy drive to Hahndorf, markets with character and a clean, environmentally friendly home in which we felt very comfortable.
