We are a family of three - myself (a public servant who works in statistics) and two girls aged 13 and 10. Fur kids are a golden retriever and a ragdoll cat (who can stay with you or be billeted out somewhere else). Happy to look after your pets - I grew up on a farm. I like the serendipity of house-swapping (it is exciting not knowing exactly where you might end up going!) and would treat your home as we do our own. Have done 4 house swaps over the years and had a great experience each time, both as a swapper and swapee.

Canberra - one of the world's most liveable cities!
Comfortable house in summer and winter with double glazing, ducted air conditioning and heating in every room. Induction cooktop in the kitchen, newly renovated bathrooms and landscaped garden.
We are 5 minutes drive to large local shopping centre (Woolies, Aldi, restaurants, etc), 5 minutes walk to the bush, 10 minute bike ride to Stromlo Mountain Bike Park. Mini-mart and cafe 3 minutes walk away.
Each of the children's rooms have trundle beds.
Indoor/outdoor dog and indoor cat can stay in house or can be billeted elsewhere.

Canberra is a great city - lots to do with all the national institutions to visit (Parliament House, Old Parliament House, War Memorial, Questacon (science museum), National Museum, National Gallery and that is just the start!
House is located fairly centrally in the Weston Creek area. It's about a 15 minute drive to the city centre/Parliamentary triangle and it takes no longer than about 25 minutes to drive anywhere else in the city.
Corner shop and cafe a 3 minute walk away. Larger shopping centre a 5 minute drive.

My family and I went on holiday to Canberra in June 2021 and organized to stay at Rachel's house during our visit. From the moment we walked in we felt at home - the house was clean, comfortable, warm (our stay was during Winter) and perfect for our kids. There were toys, books and a sandpit which they enjoyed exploring and playing with during our time there. Rachel had kindly left all the information needed for us in a folder, as well as having emailed it to us the week before, so upon our arrival we were set up to have a stay in their home that ran smoothly. Rachel was very accommodating and was fantastic to communicate with. She promptly responded to messages and texts and we even set up a phonecall one evening to chat about the house swap. The swap was non-simultaneous as Rachel's family already had a holiday planned. We look forward to welcoming them into our home in the near future.

A great house to stay in Canberra, close to shops and only a short drive into the city centre. Rachel was a delight to swap with, very friendly and left our house spotless. I wouldn't hesitate to swap again. Highly recommended.

Great swap. Go to Canberra it is great for a visit for a week for all stages of a family. Lots to see with or without kids. Good swappers with communication, instructions, nice car swap and a lovely, comfortable, clean house with everything you need and close enough to everything. Would swap here again some time.
