We are Kim and John. Kim works part time as a nurse educator. John is a retired university academic. We have two adult children and grandchildren living in Sydney. We are mainly interested in house swaps in Sydney, during term breaks. This would give us time to spend with family in Sydney and give another family a chance to holiday in the beautiful Northern Rivers.

The House

Our house was built 100 years ago. It is on a hill and has lovely views to Lismore and beyond. There is a koala reserve and bush walking at the end of our street. Our house has original wood work from Rainforest timbers, created by Northern Rivers craftsmen. It is a house to be comfortable in, rather than for formality. The yard is fenced and there is a dog door. Shops are a ten minute walk away. The kitchen and bathroom are old but clean and quirky. The laundry has a washing machine and dryer, and the house runs on battery. There is parking for two cars but it is not undercover. Our house is located next to a water tank. The gardens are set up for growing food and wildlife habitat.

The things we love about living here

We are located 30 minutes from the beaches at Ballina and 40 mins drive to Lennox Head and Byron Bay. There is easy access to National Parks, Rainforests and waterfalls. Its an area famed for its artistic culture and natural beauty. I think the Northern Rivers this one of the most beautiful places in the world.
