House Swap with me

I'm a visual artist and muralist from Sydney, Australia currently living and working in London. I'm hoping to organise both longer term swaps for visits and work stints back home as well as shorter swaps for the odd holiday in Europe, but am absolutely open to ideas and offers.

The House

The House

A 5 minute walk from the Thames, my comfy and modern one bedroom flat is on the first floor up two small flights of stairs (only 6 flats total). There isn't wheelchair access unfortunately.

It has a double bedroom, combined bath/shower and an open plan living/kitchen area with a well equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washing machine. It's recently been refurbished so is modern and light filled (though with black out blinds for those long summer days).

The apartment isn't really equipped for small children, but if you did have a child or an occasional guest, there is an armchair in the living room that folds out to a single flatbed that can be used.

The things I love about living here

  • Wapping is such an interesting area. While it has a dark history (press gangs and pirates oh my!), today it has a community/village feel despite how close it is to the centre of London.
  • It has multiple parks and gardens (lots of leafy greenery in Spring and Summer), is a short walk to the river Thames and an easy amble along the canal (check out the local swan family on the way) to the bars and eateries at St Katherine docks. While not directly on the underground it has excellent transport options - the flat is a 3 min walk to Wapping overground (easy and quick connections to underground), and buses just across the road that can take you to Canary Wharf, Tower Hill or thriving Shoreditch (alternatively the latter two can be walked to in about 30 mins).
  • There are a number of local delicious cafes in the immediate area of the flat as well as traditional English pubs - particularly recommend the Prospect of Whitby or the Captain Kidd. Both are on the river and 5-10 mins walk from the flat. Groceries, pharmacy, dentist and medical centre are also in the immediate area and there is a larger Waitrose about 10 mins walk away.
