Hi we are a married couple in our 50’s with adult children and have decided that we want an adventure.!! From July 2025 for 12 months. My wife has lots of family in the UK and we’ve been over a few times for a couple of weeks at best. Now we want to do at least 12 months, using London as a base to visit other countries. I have a building company here in Melbourne, which my son will manage while we’re away and my wife is a lawyer and will be working remotely. For this to work we really need someone with the same / similar timeframe in mind. We would prefer to be within a short commute to zone 1. Our home is in Richmond which is a 10 minute train trip from the centre of Melbourne CBD. It is also a similar distance on a tram to St Kilda beach. The house is double storey, with sitting room, study and 2 bedrooms each with ensuite (shower, vanity, toilet) and laundry on the ground floor. The lounge, dining and kitchen are on the 1st floor which leads out to a large north facing terrace with BBQ and seating. There is also a powder room on the 1st floor. There is a small private north facing garden off the sitting room on the ground floor and a small service area with clothesline and storage for bikes etc. off the study. We don’t need a lot of room, it’s more about location. We could rent our home out locally without any issues, but that means we’d be faced with moving all of our furniture and going through the drama that is the London rental market. That’s one experience we can do without.
