House Swap with us

We are a Sydney couple with two young adult children who sometimes travel with us. A writer and a project manager, we are often able to be flexible about our location. We have a cat who requires feeding once a day and are happy to care for your animals - dogs and cats especially. We are new to this site but have had many house sitters who can vouch for our home and have cared for other people's homes

The House

The House

Our home is a classic Victorian semi - built in 1890. It's a three bedroom home - two double bedrooms and one bedroom currently used as an office (this has a comfortable single sofa bed for one person if needed). The bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated and there is a second toilet and shower room. Our house is full of books and musical instruments and we have a small but leafy garden.

The things we love about living here

  • - Being 15 - 20 minutes from everything. We are 15 minutes to Sydney Town Hall/CBD on the train, 20 minutes to Martin Place/Circular Quay on the train (25 to Circular Quay or a 5 minute walk from Martin Place)
  • - Great galleries, theatres and events in Sydney. Being on the train line means that we can avoid traffic in the city - especially during the new year and festival of Sydney period
  • - 20 minutes drive to Royal National Park/La Perouse/Kurnell
  • -15 minute walk/5 minute bike ride to Botany Bay - loads of swimming enclosures, beach volleyball, kayaking etc
  • - 10 minutes to Cooks River for kayaking etc
  • - good parks close by
  • -15 minutes drive to Maroubra, the best surf beach in Sydney (in our unbiased opinion....). (20 minutes to Coogee)
  • - being in a multicultural area with great local food

The Location

The Location

Rockdale is a multicultural neighbourhood, 15 - 20 minutes by train from the CBD and a fifteen minute walk to the swimming enclosures of Botany Bay. Within a 20 minute drive, as well as all the elements of the city, we have great national parks and surf beaches. We are on the south side of the city which makes day trips to Kiama, Blue Mountains, Wollongong etc very easy.
