Derek is a semi-retired marine scientist and Marg is a retired teacher. We have children in Perth, Melbourne and Cairns and love to visit them and explore the local areas. We are also happy to swap to other remote areas to see the country. We are interested in house swaps of 2-4 weeks or longer by agreement, and very flexible. We have a large family home with plenty of internal and external space and lovely gardens.

Large multi-storey brick house with double glazed windows, good heating and large modern kitchen and facilities. Extensive, well managed private gardens and off-street parking areas for cars and caravans. Lovely, peaceful bush outlook, with plenty of birdlife, only 10 minutes drive from CBD of Hobart or safe local beaches and close to bus-stops. Fabulous local green shop (with great coffee) and pharmacy within walking distance.

A beautiful, comfortable house swap in Mount Nelson! Derek and Marg’s house is in a great location, in a lovely spacious and private setting, with lots of good walks nearby. There are amazing trees all around… plenty of birds and other visitors to the garden, like wallabies and pademelons. The house is so interesting and unique, full of light, lovely and warm, with a brilliant kitchen and living area. Derek and Marg are warm generous people who looked after our house beautifully, everything was spick and span when we got home. Communication before, during and after our stay was excellent. We all had a very happy time and got to love the Mount Nelson area.

Derek and Marg's house is on a huge hillside block in Mt Nelson, just a few minutes from central Hobart. It is a beautiful home with a magnificent bush outlook. The home is very well equipped and we wanted for nothing during our month long stay there. Highly recommended with one small caveat - because of the outside paths and steps and the steep stairs up to the master bedroom it may not be suitable for the elderly.
