Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Emerald Beach, The Coffs Coast, NSW mid north coast, NSW
Hi, we are Simon, Beck, Luca (our 2 year old son) & Bungy (our 3 year old Border Collie). We currently reside on the mid north coast of NSW, however, we have travelled extensively and have lived in different continents & the wandering spirit runs deep! Simon is English and we met when I was living in London in my early 30’s; we are both working professionals in the marketing and design industries. We both have a love of food (cooking & eating out), art, theatre, architecture & interior design. Simon now runs his graphic design business from home, which affords us the freedom to travel and work wherever we like. I am passionate about health and nutrition & I am currently studying nutrition in my spare time which, as as a mum to a 2 year old, can be a juggle but I’m loving the challenge! I grew up in Sydney & love the buzz of city life, but since becoming a mum, I also have an appreciation for small town coastal living and Emerald Beach is an idyllic place to raise children - it has so much natural beauty and there is a real community atmosphere with lots of young families in the area. We are relatively new to the Coffs Coast region, having moved here in early 2022, so we like to spend our weekends exploring the local area; finding community markets, trying out the local eateries, going for mini road trips up into the Dorrigo Mountains, or just meandering around our local village. We also have spent a lot of the last 18 months renovating our home and garden; a seemingly never-ending task! Simon and I have done numerous home exchanges in Europe, New York & in Australia, & we love the freedom and adventure of these holidays - we have met so many interesting people along the way and we have had so many amazing experiences as a result of the exchanges we’ve been offered. As animal lovers, we have also enjoyed doing a number of pet sits.

Our recently-renovated beach house is situated in the beautiful village of Emerald Beach.
Our home is a two-storey house with 3 bedrooms upstairs, with a large open plan living/dining & kitchen area. There is a large entertaining deck with breathtaking views of the ocean & mountains; enjoy an alfresco dinner or relax on the daybed & enjoy a sunset drink. There is a separate living space downstairs that will most probably be occupied during your stay (by either my mum or a dog-sitter). Both areas have their own private access, so you can come & go at your leisure but we would ask that guests be mindful of the shared space & keep noise to a minimum. We also have a very friendly border collie who will most likely be at home during your stay - he will no doubt come to visit you during the day, but will sleep at the downstairs property. Our home would suit a couple or small family, who are dog friendly.

Emerald Beach is approximately 15 mins north of the picturesque city of Coffs Harbour. Coffs Harbour is equidistance between Sydney & Brisbane, & has an airport with direct links to both cities, as well as, a regular train & bus service to the area. Our home is ideally situated within easy walking distance of spectacular beaches (patrolled during summer) & the local village with a few great cafes (with excellent coffee!), casual restaurants/bar, convenience store, yoga centre & a children’s playground. The area is renowned for its pristine beaches & National Parks, with abundant wildlife right on our doorstep (we literally have kangaroos bounce past our front gate); there are lots of bush walks, waterfalls & freshwater swimming holes nearby.
An ideal haven for the lover of the outdoors - enjoy pristine swimming beaches, world class surf breaks, bush & coastal walks that extend the along the entire Coffs Coast. Or grab a bike & explore surrounding towns via the network of cycleways.
The spectacular ‘Look at Me Now Headland’ is at the end of our street - follow the path to the outer point and enjoy 360 degree views, and you’ll undoubtedly meet some of the local fauna including the grazing kangaroos, an echidna or two, or the prolific bird life including ospreys & black cockatoos. During the months of May to September you’ll also be able to spot Humpback Whales, as they migrate north to warmer waters. Emerald Beach is also home to some unique native flora.
10 mins drive north from Emerald Beach is the popular tourist town of Woolgoolga, renowned for its large Sikh community and the famous Curry Festival that runs annually in September.
There are large supermarkets within 5 minutes drive.
