Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Thornbury, Melbourne, VIC
We are a young couple in our mid thirties, both professionals working from home (and office from time to time). We love connecting with nature, spending time outdoors hiking, camping or gardening. We have a small chihuahua-terrier senior(ish) doggy named Tandy who loves her comfort and sleeps most of the time, yet is very enthusiastic and active on her daily walks or when joining us for hikes. We would love to get to know our beautiful Australia a bit more and try out how is it to live in different locations around this beautiful country. Whenever possible, we'd love to take our Tandy with us. Our idea is to keep working during our swaps so ideally we would need access to internet too. We are both very respectful, tidy and calm people and will treat your home like it was our own. We're also very happy to look after your indoor plants, garden, pets, turn your compost heap or feed the chicken while we swap :) Cheers, Lucia & Janar

THE HOME
Our home is a lovely light-filled 3 bedroom house in a quiet pocket of Thornbury. Main bedroom sleeps 2 (queen size bed), guest room has a pull-out double sofa plus there is an additional sofa in the living room that can be converted into a comfy bed, if needed.
Guest room and the 3rd room are set up as a simple home-office that you are welcome to use if you need to work during the swap.
We have fully equipped kitchen (but no microwave, sorry) with gas/electric stove-top (half-half), electric oven, double sink and a dishwasher.
The living room is separated in two sections (though interconnected) - one with sofa facing the backyard, the other one with floor seating setup and a massive projector wall (we don't have classic TV, sorry, but the projector does an amazing job).
Bathroom has a shower and a bath tub and a separate toilette. There is also a separate powder room with washing machine.
A ducted heating and evaporative cooling are installed across the whole house but we have additional movable column heater (or two) as a backup for the colder days ;)
The house also has a lovely north-facing rear yard/garden with lots of privacy and a simple sitting arrangement to enjoy a moment outdoors.
We're open to discuss hosting your furry friends with you, just please let us know upfront that you'd like to bring your pet along :)

There is 1 endorsement for this house swap member:
Lucia and Janar’s place is in the best part of Thornbury, a little nature oasis in the middle of a big city. Quiet, very close to the Merri creek where I could walk my dog every day, off-lead. It’s the perfect balance of being close to everything the city has to offer but also far enough away for some peace. The house is large and spacious with beautiful floorboards and lots of plants and even though it’s surrounded by other houses, it was till very private and peaceful. For a first swap it couldn’t have gone better. We communicated really well, they were super easy-going and honestly, my house was cleaner when I got home than it’s ever been! Thanks so much guys, I hope we can catch up in person next time I’m in Melbourne.
