Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Table Top (Albury), Lake Hume (Albury), NSW
Hi, We are a family of 4, myself (Franc), my wife Beth and my kids Billie (8) and Luca (6). We used to live on the coast but are originally from Albury area so moved back this way and bought 22acres of land with a beautiful view looking into the alpine country. We built a 4 bed, 3 bathroom, straw bale home and used clay and lime on the walls and many recycled materials including our main feature which is exposed trusses from an old wharf in Melbourne. As most of the materials are natural, the home has a calm feeling to it. You can see snow sometimes in the winter from our living room and 2 bedrooms and there are beautiful views of the Lake Hume from the living room/kitchen. Lake Hume is only 5min drive (you can run or ride down there nearly as quick) from our home. A great place for water skiing, stand up paddles, fishing and other water sports. We love the coast and love to get there in the summer and/or other times of the year (I am a primary school teacher so we usually try to get away in the school holidays). And so, we are looking to house swap! So we can get our coastal fix and someone can enjoy our home and harvest some free range eggs while we are away.

In 2020 we finished building our customed designed and built 4 bed, 3 bathroom, straw bale home. We used clay and lime to cover the straw walls and many recycled materials including our main feature which is exposed trusses from an old wharf in Melbourne. As most of the materials are natural, the home has a calm, peaceful feeling to it.
There are amazing 360degree views of the Alpine areas and Lake Hume.
And now we have a pool!

Hi,
There are great places to visit in and around our house. As mentioned, Lake Hume is a very popular spot for swimming, water skiing, fishing and other water sports. It is only 5minute drive away (we are one of the closest houses to it). The Murray River in Albury is also a great place to swim and there are plenty of good cafes and restuarants nearby. Out of Albury within 30min - and hour you'll find plenty or awesome little Victorian towns such as Bright, Beechworth, Yakandanda, Rutherglen - so if you're into food and wine that's a win. There's plenty of good hikes near Bright and Myrtleford and the Rail Trail is only 10-20min away from our house depending on where you'd like to begin. Lots of summer fun to be had.

My husband and another couple joined us for 12 wonderful days at Frank's lovely home in Table Top. The house is very comfortable and easy to live in. We enjoyed fresh eggs from the hens each day and the rural view was so peaceful and pretty to look at. There are little country towns to visit all around Albury with quaint shops and friendly people. Beechworth, Chiltern, Yakandanda are all within a 45 minute drive which is lovely countryside. The Migrant Experience was an eye opener in how so many people came from other countries and began their life in Australia in this most uncomfortable place. Definitely worth a visit. Hume Dam is also very impressive, there is a Sculpture walk very close by that has Aboriginal artworks through it, The Albury Museum was interesting and the shopping was great in all the little towns as well as in Albury. I found the country town feel such a change from city life and my time in the country was delightful. I would highly recommend a swap with Frank's family.
