Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in CHIPPING, Forest of Bowland, Lancashire
Retired couple with two daughters ages 38 and 36. We normally travel as a couple but there are occasions when another couple may join us. Our youngest daughter lives in Sydney so on Australian swaps she may stay with us (sometimes with her well behaved pomeranian) We love travelling and tend to spend each summer in France and Italy so we are always open to non simultaneous swaps. At the end of 2025 we will be spending 3 months in Australia from the beginning of December so are looking at swapping during this period.

Village is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Perfect for walking, cycling, visiting surrounding countryside, popping over the border into Yorkshire or driving up the motorway to the Lake District. Lancaster is only forty five minutes away. Central Manchester with its abundance of shops and restaurants and of course football stadiums is an hours drive. Just up the road is the Wild Boar Park and five minutes further is the "Inn at Whitewell" which is always worth a visit. There is so much on offer in the area it is difficult to do it justice.

We spent 4 weeks over Christmas 2022 in Carol's lovely home in Chipping. We loved the village - Carol's place was a short walk to the pubs and cafes, and the farm shop was just across the road. There was a lovely loop walk that we did almost daily, past the farms and mill pond. Towns with supermarkets, castles and railway stations were a short drive away and the Forest of Bowland was stunning. Carol's house was quiet, warm and cosy and such a comfortable place to come back to after a day of exploring. Her kitchen was lovely and she kindly arranged for a little package from the farm shop to be there for us when we arrived after our long trip. She was so easy to deal with, and even suggested a visit to her WI meeting with her friends collecting me. My grandmother had been a WI member and this meant a lot to me. Everyone in the village was friendly and kind and the trivia night was fun. We have fabulous memories of our time in Chipping and would definitely recommend a stay in Carol's home.

Carol's home is perfect - a very homely and cosy place with a semi rural location (and an outlook to die for) that is also invitingly close to lots of activities and attractions. We were there when the Chipping Agricultural Show was on and it was a highlight for us and our grandchildren. We had the pleasure of staying for 2 weeks and found the house and its locale to be excellent. Chipping is a little village with a pub, eateries, local corner store, church and is within easy reach of Preston. We particularly loved the ability to hop on and ride our bikes from the front door and, being so close to lots of tourist attractions and walking tracks which added so much to a wonderful holiday. The rooms are generous with all the mod cons in the kitchen/bathroom/laundry etc needed for a relaxing stay. Thoroughly recommended without hesitation.
