Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, Gonzales or Fairfield, BC
We are Anne and Peter, an active retired couple who walk, bike or bus to most places. You might be able to use our bicycles during your stay, so please ask if you're interested. We haven't owned a car for many years but as members of a car share co-op we drive when needed. You'll see that music is one of our hobbies and we're keen gardeners too. We have done many very successful exchanges, to places both far and near. This is our only home but many of our swaps have been non-simultaneous, so if that's what you'd prefer, just ask! Anne immigrated from England many years ago, and while it's always good to visit family there, Anne's sister lives in north Sydney and we want to keep going back to Australia - who wouldn't?! Please tempt us!

With Victoria's mild climate, our cozy house is rarely too hot in our summer months and is bright, cheerful and warm in winter. The ground floor has glowing Douglas fir flooring throughout and includes a well-designed modern kitchen with table and stools for two, a separate dining room and bedroom, bathroom and living room. The deck, accessed from the kitchen, overlooks our fenced back garden, full of flowers, shrubs and vegetables. Other seating areas let you follow the sun around or find a nice shady spot to rest. Downstairs,we can put a queen-sized air bed in the large, carpeted music room if needed. There is also a bathroom downstairs, laundry and kitchen area. The front garden is fenced to keep out the urban deer - they're lovely to look at, but with this mesh fence you can admire them without any concerns and they can't damage our garden!

Our home is in a lovely, quiet residential neighbourhood 10 minutes by car from the small but lively centre of Victoria, the capital of the Province of British Columbia. With bus stops just a few minutes away from us many visitors find it easier to leave their car at home or to walk from our house into town along the stunning waterfront, with views of the Olympic Mountains every step of the way. We're also just a short walk to beaches and parks and the shops, restaurants, cafes, sports centre, library and community centre of Oak Bay Village. Everyone loves the world-renowned Butchart Gardens, and a little further afield you can sign on with whale-watching and bear-watching tours. Ferries sail from Victoria to Vancouver, the Gulf Islands, and to Seattle and Port Angeles, both in Washington State.
With Victoria's mild climate you can ski in Whistler, take a 30 minute flight and be golfing in Victoria the same day - we have many world-class golf courses open year round.
