Hello, from Terry and Jenny. We are retired school teachers in our late 60s/70s and have worked extensively in the arts. We are non-smokers and don't have any pets now that we live in a unit. We started home exchanging in 2006 and since then have completed 9 home exchanges around the world and 2 more in Australia. Normally we travel on our own. We love the experience of meeting new people and enjoying new cultures. We try to be flexible with dates and destinations although family commitments (and pandemics) can dictate dates at times.

The House

The House

This is a small (85sq m) apartment located on the top floor of a waterfront 1920s Federation apartment block. It is an ideal place for a couple, although you do need to be fit as there is no lift. Classic high ceilings and windows on three sides make this a private, yet open and light filled place to live with a stunning view of Sydney Harbour. As you would expect the kitchen and bathroom have been brought up to 21st Century standards and the rest of the unit is comfortably furnished. The second bedroom is used as a study. The unit is really not suitable for children.

The things we love about living here

  • Sydney is one of the most liveable cities in the world and living on the harbour is the best place to make the most of its joys.
  • The ferry runs from the front of our building to the city every 30 minutes and the 15-minute ride is worth the trip even without the destination.
  • There are many kilometres of harbour side walks from this point, winding through parks and reserves.
  • Sydney Zoo and Balmoral Beach are all within walking distance.
  • Public transport is very good and you can easily get by without a car.

Terry and Jenny have a beautiful apartment that is very peaceful and with a great view. Ferry stop is right downstairs with a quick ride to circular quay makes it very convenient. We have done two swaps now and planning more, they are good communicators and lovely people. Highly recommended.
