Our names are Malcolm and Barbara, otherwise known as Mac and Bee! We are on the brink of retirement (both teachers, teaching part time now) and interested in visiting Tasmania, especially, as our son lives there - and we'd also like to visit other parts of Australia, especially Queensland. We are from Southern Africa originally; we live in Perth and have travelled a fair bit around Western Australia and would love to broaden our horizons. We’re also interested in shorter stay house swaps with people who live in different parts of Western Australia. Our children have left the nest and we live in a fairly large family home with a swimming pool, five minutes drive from beautiful beaches, and close to lovely parks.

Our home is in a quiet street, slightly elevated, double story with a spacious upstairs area and balcony which overlooks a little park, perfect for sundowners. The main bedroom with ensuite opens onto a private garden, well treed, the birds love it!
It has a great pool in the backyard, so families or couples would love it; the pool is not fenced although every door leading outside closes automatically.
The patio looks out over the pool, it has 3 seperate living areas, one upstairs.

Our home is located in the northern suburbs, five minutes drive from beautiful beaches and the coffee strip! Mettims pools and Watermans are both great for snorkelling. Small park with playground very close by and Carine Open Space within walking distance - lakes and water birds there plus bbqs etc.
Starswamp close by too, large bush area covering 100 hectares.
Train station is a five minute drive, and we're near a good bus route, with buses every 15 minutes to the station and Hillarys boat harbour. Hillarys boat harbour has many restaurants and other entertainment plus the aquarium and is 10 minutes away by car. Ferries every day to Rottnest island from Hillarys. Trains from station into perth city every ten minutes, taking about 15 minutes into the city. By car, its about 20 minutes into the city, depending on traffic.

We had a wonderful stay in Barbara & Malcom's beautiful Duncraig home. Their home is spacious, restful, and has lovely lounge and bedroom options both up & downstairs. A garden surrounds a well maintained pool, great for those hotter days. Barbara & Malcom welcomed our stay in their home with genersosity and thoughtfulness, and looked after our home superbly! We are very thankful for this house swap.

Barbara and Mac could not have been more accommodating or pleasant to deal with. Communication was fantastic - we kept in touch regularly in the lead up to our house swaps to make our arrangements and discuss logistics. Barbara and I kept in touch throughout our swap, providing helpful info, tips & assistance to each other. Their house is in a great location in a lovely quiet and safe suburb. It is close to several large shopping centres and public transport. The house itself is very clean and tidy and a great layout. There were plenty of places for each of us to find a little space and also large spaces for us to hang out together. Their pool and backyard area is gorgeous and immaculate with lots of birds visiting. Barbara and Mac looked after our home like it was their own. It was immaculately clean when we returned and Barbara had even left us a meal in the slow cooker because she knew that we would be arriving late. 5 out of 5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you so much Bee & Mac. Bee and Mac stayed at our Toodyay property in June 2023 and were the perfect guests. They left the house very tidy and were great in communicating with us. We highly recommend them for any house swaps they may approach others for.

Thanks to Bee and Mal, what started as a housesit became a house swap! They were extremely helpful in guiding us in the house swap process as this was our first time. Communication from start to end and during the house sit was seamless. Their house is well set up with everything you need for a comfortable stay. It is a wonderful space inside and out, including the garden and pool area. Such a lovely space to have breakfast or afternoon drinks. The area was quiet with a lovely green space at the end of the street. Ideally located to the local train station within a short drive away. Great instructions were left in the home, which was also very easy to manage. The home was accessible to all highways, shops, takeaway and pubs. We found this house was in a great location for any stay in Perth. Thanks Bee and Mal for a great stay and introduction to the house swap community!
