Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Ocean Vista, North West Coast Tasmania, TAS
Currently UNABLE TO ACCEPT EXCHANGE OFFERS FOR 2023/24 due to change of circumstances. Hi, we are an active family of five (with three adolescent children 16,14 & 14) living in Pristine Tassie on the North West Coast. We love the outdoors, in particular coastal areas as we spend much of our spare time swimming (though our water is a little cool), surfing, road cycling and mountain bike riding. We are open to travel suggestions both here in Australia and Overseas. We have enjoyed meeting some lovely people and had fabulous exchanges through home exchange. We are open to simultaneous exchanges, however are very flexible with dates as we have access to a holiday home which is available all year round.

Architecturally designed family home with 180 degree views over Bass Strait. We have a large and spacious modern family home with four bedrooms and three living areas. The home has 180 degree uninterrupted views of Table Cape and Bass Strait. Our home has two large decks, one north facing and the other to the east. The outdoor Spa, fireplace and Pizza oven let you enjoy mild evenings in comfort while our indoor fireplace and floor to ceiling glass keep you toasty warm during the cooler months. This is a great home for a family getaway with loads of places to explore and see. We even our own fairy penguin colony at the beach in front of our house (5 minute walk)

Tassie's North West is a great place for touring and offers spectacular views at every turn, from Mt Roland near Devonport, Table Cape (which you can see from our house) and the famous Nut at Stanley. And some of Tasmania's prettiest cities and towns sit right on the water's edge on the scenic North West coast, each with their own unique attractions and relaxed seaside atmosphere. One of our best hidden gems is Boat Harbour Beach, a 20 minute drive from home.
Tasmania's North West is also home to the Tarkine, one of the world's last great wilderness experiences, Australia's greatest expanse of cool temperate rainforest and the largest in the world. The North West is also home to Cradle Mountain, one of Tasmania's most visited icons, offering amazing nature experiences including forest adventures, great walks - easy and hard - and some of the best scenery in the world. Cradle Mountain is only 1 1/4 hour drive away from home.
Getting Here:
There is a Regional Airport only 15 Km away (Wynyard/Burnie), which has daily flights from Melbourne. Rex Airlines fly into this airport. Its convenient but more expensive than flying into Launceston (1 1/2 hours away) which has direct flights from Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney with each of the major airlines.
Getting Around:
Public Transport is not great in Tassie, so a car is strongly recommended.
