Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Alonnah, Bruny Island, Tasmania, TAS
I'm an Australian (mid 50's) and until recently lived in France with my French wife Nathalie. We have just moved back to Australia and have a settled into our home on Tasmania's Bruny Island. It's a natural paradise largely untouched by modern life. Ours is a small but very comfortable home with 180 degree views over the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and back towards the 'mainland' of Tasmania. Hobart is about an hour away by car and car ferry. We tend to head back to Europe for the Australian winter / northern summer so very open to house swap opportunities outside Australia.

Our home on Bruny Island is a perfect base to explore all that Bruny has to offer. It's a very comfortable home with a large deck perfect for taking in the sweeping views of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, Satellite Island and the mountains beyond.
We have just completed a major renovation of the entire house. The large picture windows in the kitchen and main bedroom frame the view which you will never get tired of. The new kitchen has all the appliances you'll need and features Tasmanian oak benchtops. The bathroom with walk in shower is new too. You can enjoy amazing views of the Channel from both the living area, kitchen and the main bedroom.
In the yard at night, we have wallabies grazing and keeping the grass down and it's not unusual to see seals and dolphins playing in the water in view of the house. Watch the Aurora Australis from the deck if you're lucky.
Bruny Island has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and things to do as well. You will easily fill in a week or two and still not see it all. It is quite easy to access from Hobart airport as well.
PS Please note, ours is effectively a one bedroom home so it's only suitable for a single person or couple.

Bruny Island is still quite untouched and a natural retreat from city life. Beautiful countryside, beaches and scenic beauty. A great place to get away from it all and still enjoy some great local food and wine too.
You can take your car onto the island via the ferry that leaves Kettering. In Alonnah we have a general store, pub with great meals and even a pharmacy!

We had a very relaxing time staying in Jonathan and Nathalie's home. The view is terrific with a lovely coastal walk close by. We hope to be able to swap again before too long. Bruny Island is such a special place. Thank you Jonathan and Nathalie.
