Hi We are Fay and Jim, together for over forty years. I am a retired business studies teacher and Jim was an English and languages teacher. Jim is an avid reader and book collector. I have been concentrating on the garden as well as handicrafts. We enjoy leisurely travel and look forward to new experiences in new landscapes. We prefer to swap to a location where there is plenty of public transport. We have undertaken a great many exchanges both overseas and within Australia and will take great care of your home.

The House

Fitzroy North, near Melbourne CBD - Modern self-contained two storey apartment
The apartment is a newly built annexed to our home. It is completely private and self-contained with its own entrance. Two bedrooms are upstairs: one with a queen bed and balcony, the other is a children's bedroom with a single bed and a cot. Downstairs is a lounge/dining and kitchen, with a small study to one side. Outdoor space is generous with a native garden and parking for a small car via a back lane and a single roller door. The apartment is light filled and peaceful, yet it is in the heart of bustling Fitzroy North. The tram to the city runs on the street in front of the house and there are plenty of other public transport options nearby as well as car available through "Go Get" across the road.

The things we love about living here

Fitzroy North has many fine one and two storey Victorian terrace houses with pretty ironwork, verandahs, and stone embellishments. It is one of Melbourne's lovely inner-city locations with plenty of dining options, including the Lord Newry Hotel across the road.
The shopping heart of Brunswick Street has a slightly bohemian flavour and is famous for its restaurants and range of interesting and unique shops. It is always bustling with lots of students from the nearby universities and colleges. Further north along Brunswick street are the vast Edinburgh Gardens, very popular with picnickers, party goers and families and then North Fitzroy village shopping strip.
We really enjoy living here. Everything Melbourne has to offer is within easy access - theatres, music, libraries, galleries, sporting events, shopping, restaurants, pubs and bars. Indeed the tram to the city and a popular beach runs past our front door. Melbourne is a cosmopolitan city with immense cultural diversity - the sound of foreign tongues is heard not only from tourists but from locals who have settled here from all corners of the globe.
