Home exchange and house swap holiday accommodation in Howrah, Hobart, TAS
Retired, married couple in our late 60's. John has a technical background in communications and Madeleine in accounting and administration. We have enjoyed many overseas travels and now that we have retired we would like to spend even more time exploring new places and enjoying different cultures. We are particularly interested in Mackay as we have family living there. Our Party photo was taken on a visit to Hobbiton and not outside our house!!

We had a lovely stay at John and Madeleine’s. The house was lovely and clean in a good area, with great views of the harbour. Easy location for exploring Tassie. I recommend this swap if your thinking of a visit to Tassie and John and Madeleine are very easy to deal with.
Robyn from Campwin Beach QLD (Apr 2024)
Madeleine and John were very generous in allowing me and myself for a non simultaneous swap with car. We are so grateful for this opportunity and would recommend their lovely home to anyone.
Cheryl from Sanctuary Point NSW (Sep 2023)
Madeline and John’s home has a wonderful view over the harbour with Mt Wellington as a backdrop. Their home is very comfortable with all the necessary items and well equipped modern kitchen. The use of their car was invaluable with unrestricted use for our stay which allowed us to visit many of Tasmania’s attractions. John had arranged for us to pick up his car days before our planned stay at their house which was extremely convenient and generous of him. Madeline and John followed our house rules and left it in a clean and neat manner. Our daughters family were also made very welcome to stay and We would highly recommend John and Madeleine for future Houseswaps.

Madeleine and John are a pleasure to deal with. Their house is immaculate and in a great position close to everything we wanted to see. A real home away from home. We look forward to welcoming them into our part of the country when ever they are ready and able.
Troy from Macleay Island QLD (Jun 2020)
A lovely and well presented home with amazing views across Hobart's Derwent river to Mt Wellington. The home was most comfortable, warm and welcoming, and having breakfast overlooking those views was inspiring. Thanks to Madeleine and John for allowing us this lovely Tasmanian experience . Our home was left in immaculate condition and some generous 'supplies' left in the pantry. Thank you John & Madeleine.
Peter & Gillian from Mentone VIC (Sep 2019)
Madeleine and John were wonderful guests in our home. They are very warm and friendly and left our apartment spotless. Their home is lovely with a spectacular water and mountain view from their balcony. Hobart is a short drive or bus ride away and there is a great restaurant and Woolworths withing walking distance. I would highly recommend a visit to Howrah and look forward to our future exchanges.
