Adrian is retiring from IT Management in August, and Margaret is planning to continue teaching part-time for a couple of years. We have an interest with our son in a vineyard and winery in the Great Southern which will keep us close to Perth for a while, but we hope to travel extensively using house swap when Margaret retires. In the meantime we have a daughter in Sydney who is a part of the Olympic sailing team, training hard for Weymouth UK in 2012. We would like to spend the Christmas school holidays with her in Sydney, so we are looking for a swap at that time. Also looking down the track, we would like to start talking with somebody about a swap in/close by Weymouth UK for July/Aug 2012.

About our House: Our home is situated among the trees in the leafy village of Darlington on the edge of the Darling Ranges 30 km east of Perth. We built the house 5 years ago as an open plan living design. The house has 3 levels, the 1st consisting garage, wine cellar, store. The 2nd level can be accessed from the garage or via external stairs and provides, large open plan living/kitchen, lounge, study, cloakroom, laundry, master bedroom and ensuite. The living area opens on to a large entertaining deck providing views of the twinkling lights of the city of Perth as you relax over a glass of wine in the evening. The 3rd level has 2 large bedrooms, bathroom and large loft area/teenage retreat.

Midland is 5 minutes drive and has good shopping facilities, cinemas, restaurants etc. Aslo close by is the Swan Valley Wine region which has a number of award winning wineries, restuarants and tourist attactions. John Forrest National Park is approx 1 Km from our doorstep and there are a number of parks, lakes, historic towns within a short drive. Whilst there is a reasonable public transport system, a car would provide greater flexibility, and we would be willing to negotiate the use of a vehicle.
