We are a soon to be retired couple looking to spend 6 weeks to 2 months in the Melbourne area. We have three wonderful children and are fortunate to have 5 wonderful grandchildren. We are a Banker and Office Manager by trade and are looking forward to the freedom of traveling. We really enjoy long walks on the promenade along the Fraser River where we live as the sights are always changing and very beautiful. We feel as though we are on vacation year round because of the beauty of our area, but are anxious to visit other interesting countries. We are very considerate, honest, clean individuals who will respect your property as if it were our own. This will be our first home exchange experience.

About our condo: Spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom plus den condo unit with private entrance. Our master suite has a queen bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. Our unit features a spacious garden patio overlooking the scenic Fraser River with uninterrupted views of the passing tugboats, fishing vessels, and pleasure craft. You can enjoy a walk on the boardwalk along the picturesque tree lined city park leading to the New Westminster Quay Public Market. Our condo unit is located minutes from downtown New Westminster with easy access to all public transportation, including an extensive skytrain system. As the Fraser River is also a "working" river, the view from our suite is that of tugs towing log jams, barges or possibly container ships. An old style paddle wheeler takes guests on a dinner cruise, leaving from the New Westminster Quay.

New Westminster offers the Canada Olympic Swimming Pool and Massey Theatre and is accessible by skytrain to the Home of the Vancouver Canucks Hockey Team at GM Place. Downtown New Westminster has many unique, interesting shops that you will enjoy. We have many beautiful city parks that provide hours of walking and relaxation. As well, we have a great skytrain and bus system that provides excellent service. Several Olympic venues are easily accessible by skytrain: hockey, curling, figure skating, speed skating, snowboarding, luge and downhill. We are nestled between the Pacific Ocean and Mountain Range which provides beautiful scenery when traveling by skytrain. We also offer English Bay and Stanley Park with beautiful beaches. We truly live in a beautiful province.
